Popular holiday experience portal gets a facelift
Ultra Travel is a portal where travellers are able to register and share their experiences when visiting different countries.
I worked on a redesign of the website which was a significant improvement over the old site, however we also ended up changing quite a few core elements of the site to allow for a better user experience.
For example, we added a searchable map and Advanced Search system to allow people to easily find destinations. The old system was to manually find your destination from a set of 3 maps, each with pins of destinations on it, which could be hard to find sometimes.
The site is written in Python (using Django framework), and the reskin + enhanced functionality was completed on time.
The final result is a great looking and functional website which is a significant improvement over the previous iteration.
