UK's Most Popular Fan Package Retailer is regenerated
Thomas Cook Sport is the first large project I had the chance to work on with Thomas Cook. The system was fairly old (written circa 2006) so required lots of maintaining and updates to stay current.
My main tasks involved reskinning the booking process for a new design (which included new functionality), allowing new charity payments via the website, and allowing more customisation from the existing CMS. I also developed a system to help scale the application by allowing it to run via a slave/master database setup.
My development time on Thomas Cook Sport gave me a great insight into the travel industry and how they work, which means I would feel very comfortable working in this industry again in the future.
