Internet Privacy is Awesome
Recently (asin, the past few months) I have been logged in to 90% of sites that I've never visited before, asking me to Like the page, or comment on it, or share it with my friends!
As a geek, I think it's pretty amazing and understand that of course, I'm not actually logged into that site at all, it's a third party service that I'm also signed in to. However, it must be pretty scary for some people who don't really understand what's going on to visit a website they've never seen before in their lives, and see their full name, profile picture(?) and a lot of buttons allowing them to share with their friends.
How does it make you feel?
This isn't going to be another one of my stupidly long posts explaining everything, but placing a simple question out to everyone - How does it make you feel?
As a regular user, do you think it's a good thing that you're "logged in to" all sites and can start using some functionality instantly, or would you prefer to have to login, create an account, or at the very least, let them use the sites that you're logged in to as part of their site?
Let me know in comments, would be interested in finding out who's bothered or not..
Side Note
My site uses one of the services that will "share" logins - ie. Disqus, for comments/likes/etc. on my blog. It's important to note that, even if you appear to be logged in to everywhere, you are not! This is not a privacy concern at all, your login data is never shared with the actual website, it's essentially embedded code from the service that you're logged into. Just thought I'd mention that here, many people tend to freak out.
